Storybird

Oh, what new literature fun! I approve of technology that brings more people and ideas together. Something to play with although in this case, the random words were provided by Storybird and our job is to mix and match some word sense into the art. Go, Storybird and We!

9 ..the art of happiness..

..is found in the littlest of things,
the ones that shy away from the obvious -
a speck of flower blooming in the concrete jungle,
a second look from a baby with curious eyes,
a hint of a smile from an unknown friend..

human nature to hold on,
resist change to the familiar -
reminisce the wonderful past,
glorify the things that weren't that glorious before
as such things seem much better, faded with time,
(or worse things have come to be..)

today, i made a decision to let go and breathe,
the world will go on, the others will swarm over this moment,
and it will will be just another speck in time..
(let's see if i can get a bigger speck next.)

it's all about re-discovery of people,
places and moments -
i'm still happy..

this is the same person
who is making newer and faster and better connections.
this is a different person
who thinks power is nothing without control,
  and believes in gentle strength.

this is the same person
  who finally understands true ignorance,
  knows wisdom is about discovery
learning to use what is already there.
this is a different person
  who will change the world

9.9.9

Life has been kind
and i have learned so much
being here, breathing here;
leaving and arriving like wind
and always returning to nine.

This began a long time ago
with a dream and a thought,
then an action with hope.

We do not exist alone;
We exist because we believe
that others out there believe in us too.

May we serve to inspire creation always.
Thank you for sharing with me.

7.9 energy practices, energy focuses
  • [96.9]  the lessons continue
by now, i re-discovered a few worlds
that have been playing since childhood.

by now, these worlds are coming together again
and making better stories than before.

by now, i have the inspiration
to start a few more projects that i believe in.

by then, thou will come full circle..

Welcome to our journey together..

2017.Jul
Unification. Courage.

After some 20 years of random writing, musing, and poeting with reservation, this is the moment I put it altogether and say - WHY NOT? It is sheer laziness that I now stop separating spheres and layers of dreams, ideas, thoughts and experiences. Inspiration builds on the onions of the past and the buds of what-else-might-grow. This is the year of the toddlers and the perennials.

There is an ill-perceived freedom that comes with anonymity and privacy.
There is also a freedom that certain lifetime limitations trumpets, "All hail whatever will be, will be!" So I unleash the mind on the next creative phase to explore online (as courageously as I am comfortable with.) I am still tracing the lines of destiny backwards and forwards; no, this is not a metaphor. A blue elephant is born from the abysmal physical conditions that travel requires; this mind can still be displaced. I am cautious but I am far more curious.

"For you grow to heaven, you don't go to heaven. It is within thine own consciousness that ye grow there. All you may know of heaven or hell is within your own self." - Cayce, E. (1877 - 1945) 3409-1

..lost, blind & ignorant..
to come back from nothing
is this untruthful? perhaps ungrateful?
to learn much, suffer more
and then let it all go,
all forms
all that be
.
to be found, to be seen, to be wise
.
each adventure, every mishap, per episode
of living life, of experiencing pain and peace -
an atom of my story, a quark of my moment here,
all for you, from me eternally.

this teaches me patience,
that we learn and grow together,
the first to be, is as good
as the last to come home.

...more chaos, I spent the last 48 hours wondering...
WHY am I doing this? I still have dated preferences. I treasure privacy and the exclusivity of circles and circular thoughts. The reason I prefer no trace of being here is because I do not exist in here. My mental traces uploaded when I am physically gone, and I cannot be of real value anymore, except perhaps for these literary atoms. I am learning everyday; I am growing perennially. Even after virtually and physically disappearing from all I knew before, I can create new waves. I cannot hide so WHERE can I go with this? I've reviewed my past, my present - the person who wrote then, still writes. Only the tip of the iceberg of this life is re-written in 2007. Least I melt away too soon in this continuum, HOW will I remember you? Inside this illusion that I exist, only by the rules of my continuum, and because you have read what I penned. You exist because I choose not to ignore you, and I exist because you choose to acknowledge me. I stroll through the atoms of this plane, everyone lost in their worlds, no one feels the earth they are in, nor see the sky around them. It is dense out here, so WHAT happens now?

9 learnings

  • [93.9] end to begin again
the ninth lunar day of the third lunar month,
come full moon, we begin where we end..

9 Sayings that were discovered today:
http://www.zhaxizhuoma.net/SEVEN_JEWELS/FIVE%20VIDYAS/Sayings.html

9 Thoughts that were uncovered today.

V. How much one learns from his teacher depends a great deal on the guidance his teacher provides him. A good teacher, therefore, should be a role model for his students in moral integrity as well as scholarship, and his students should strive to reach high levels through accumulating knowledge and attaining moral integrity. In this manner learning is a part of the way to human perfection.
1. I am your student and teacher.

X. The one who is only good at reciting other’s works is ignorant. The value in such works lies in their application to reality. A brilliant university graduate, or a master of the Four Books and Five Scriptures, without knowing how to put what he has learned into practice, can hardly fend for himself and offers no benefit to society. Only when the masterpieces are in put into use can they be powerful in terms of social advancement. It is only then that knowledge is transformed into a material force.
2. I am a DOer.

XIV. A person not appreciative of the good life he is living is one who has forgotten his past miseries. A person in good health is not aware of its blessings until he loses it.
3. I am healthy.

XXIII. Success in life depends not only on wisdom and ability but also on time and opportunity. Given no time and opportunity, wisdom and ability cannot come into play. Only when all the elements meet will success be the result. This is the true way of achieving success.
4. I am successful (and wise and patient.)

XXIX. Be aware that regret is an enemy of success, or you will be regretting day after day. The time spent on regretting could well be used for action. Therefore, do not let action be replaced by regretting. Once you realize that this is the Way, there will be no time for regretting whatsoever.
5. I live and die without regret.

XXXI. Life is a long journey during which the traveler has to clear many checkpoints before he reaches his destination. The things he needs to conduct himself through them are his good name and ability.
6. I am a great journey (that flows peacefully too.)

XLV. It has been frequently claimed that knowledge is power, but in reality it is not true. Knowledge is the ability to recognize and distinguish things, while power is the outcome of the application of knowledge. When knowledge is applied, power is accumulated. A great lake accumulates water from hundreds of streams, but if the waters are not diverted to the farmlands, there will be drought and cracks will appear in the fields. Similarly, there will be no power if knowledge is kept unused. Thus, one should not equate knowledge with power.
7. I am powerful.

LXVI. Minor things are useful. Do not give them up because of their insignificance or defects. Why? Because defects exist side by side with merits. The right thing to do is to make the best use of a thing’s merits and ignore its defects. Bulky logs can be used as material for buildings and ships, but they are unfit to fuel a cooking stove. For cooking fuel you need small pieces of firewood or you go hungry.
8. I am useful.

LXXX. The world is impermanent, and nothing exists forever. Animate beings are destined to die, and those inanimate are bound for destruction, because the creation of all things is based on the composition of the necessary causes and conditions. Formless and nameless, everything is illusory, and it comes and goes following the pattern of cause and effect. That is why all’s well that ends well
9. I am here now and end well.

1. still saving THIS TREE, with your help -

(not a tree-hugger, but this tree made me feel good
when i accidentally discovered it)

2. tried to be vegetarian - like Uncle Ron Smith
lasted as long as i didn't see wasabi
(was told that all meats have a secret poison
when the animals were killed and they didn't want to die.. yikes..)
actually, everything's tainted with chemicals

3. made some nurse friends,
and learnt some medical care -
(but not that brave to act on this job,
i sure appreciate how they care for the bedridden)

4. learnt to navigate,
got lost, got detoured, got experience too-
(and got a GPS mapping system and bus guide now)

5. re-discovering as a tourist in my own country -
(enjoying the re-discoveries, especially food)

6. took many, many photos and videos of moments in time -
marvelling at what details there are in the clouds and nature
(human nature)

7. realize preparing for that final departure call is
fraught with living anxieties that glorify the trivial -
(live happy, leave happy)

8. made fresh mash potatoes,
with the secret ingredients:
Hokkaido butter and really fresh cream mil.
(i could be semi-vegan with this and ice-cream)

9. sadly sent in my resignation decision to
a boss who's been mentor and family this past 8 years.
(thank you, but it's time to come home..
i'm happy to be home)

92 reDiscoveries

[122.28]
books have crossed without marking
friends have passed without smiling
seeds have sprouted without light
memories have faded without letting go

i did learn something valuable there:
"..no matter how great we are,
we cannot change the world alone.."

Welcome friends, to this Life
made interesting because you're in it
together with me..

  • [91.7] Hello from me again,
now shuttling between worlds.. I have decided on ONE SIMPLE GOAL for 2009: “Do something NEW*.. at least once a month.” (*marks the new some things, past and present, in this letter.) Not that hard really since I’ve been doing lots, just never got down to sharing* with you until now.. (see, something new already! This is SO easy.. heh..) For 2014, I have decided to EVOLVE THE GOAL; "Be braver and GATHER*.. somehow to merge stories."

First, let's recap from possibly the last time we connected, maybe 2006, when I journeyed to Greece* (Athens, Mykonos, Santorini) and learnt about www.BookCrossing.com* but didn't do much about it until now. This is a planetary library, something that seems a bit more fun than a fixed library, a bit more meaningful than storing books on my shelves. Wild books that are travelling the world, left at places to be discovered by the next person. So I thought I’ll DO something now and release at least 100 books* with special dedications this year. This is hard for me to do, since I love books, especially children's books – it’s my  imagined substitution for pseudo-trees growing in my room. Letting go* of possessions can be tough (even with school books that I don’t read anymore,) but interestingly liberating and more spacious when done.

Second, I got invited to be a guest lecturer for 2007* at the P.S.University - Faculty of International Business of China. Apparently I did well, so the Dean asked me back for another semester in 2008*. The students are a great bunch, full of energy and ideas, and I got to experience more* than I would just working alone. There is a great sense of accomplishment when different ideas meet and work together from different cultures; we learn a lot more mutually than we would alone. (2009 semester - possibly, probably, maybe if I'm still here.) 2013* saw me sharing more English tips with the junior college kids which was so much fun.

Third, “tough times never last, but tough people do” (R.H.Schuller, I read this book.) A more creative lifestyle* indeed – I have lots of opportunity to do things because of a series of unfortunate events, assisted by loads of kind people. From taking an air ambulance in 2006* and another in 2011* (also called a medical evacuation - I met very nice nurses and doctors who made me laugh); To a massive home clean-up (15 years of family-stored junk - friends and family helped lots); To handling local mafia in 2007* (who unsuccessfully tried to boot some of us out - I got to spend time with family and get to know some cool protectors); To the funerals of two gentlemen who made a difference to their countries in 2008 (Uncle Lim, age 63, who was called “possibly one of the greatest minds” in strategic diplomacy, and a son of Singapore. Gramps Manit, age 81, who was a Police-Colonel in the border patrols of Thailand and lost his left arm in his service.) Both have connected to my life as a kindly uncle and an eloquent grandfather, taking a walk in the rain, simple men who loved their food and books.

Fourth, discovering Ko Surin* TWICE in 2007 and 2008. Swimming with reef sharks, moray eels, sea snakes and jellyfish as well as the other fish species. This was nature, a whole other world that I really enjoyed. I pitied the fish in the aquarium that had all the food fed to them in a pool, and no longer free to roam the sea. It was the difference between a techno-filtered, air-conditioned office, and the naturally crisp, cool ocean environ. Perhentian Islands* in 2011 is just as awesome, I can't swim much, but I love to float with the fish.

Fifth, fast track to 2009’s first week: FaceBook*, Blogspot*, I have arrived.. 2012's Picassa and G+*. I have to admit, I do not make that much time to maintain online presence but I can upload photos and an occasional summary of adventures and people who are with me in this moment. It cannot replace actually meeting up with you and sharing something together, but I will write you stories. 2013 finds me exploring Instagram*.

Sixth, to all my friends, new and old or young, lost and found or hidden, here and there or nowhere - we are remembered. As we move distracted and entranced around this earth, so easily and so often now, keeping in touch is a matter of our wills. I have not been a very constant friend in your life, and I am going to - as an evolving goal - DO something in HERE, NOW to immortalise our moments together. The tea parties and philosophies under the stars have begun; I am grateful that we have these moments together. And if we do not meet again, just smile at our best memories together.

Seventh, Thank you, thank you sincerely;
Big hugs for the present, and doing more.
Bestest wishes from the stars always.
Live well, do good, be great.

91 is today the day

[122.28]
alternate brushes of life with death,
how do we live and leave well,
unites spirit with mind and body.

[91.5] "Everything happens for a reason,
just believe.." Thanks, RM.
Today, someone saved my life
with a message of caution.

Today, he told me i would die
if i continued working so hard
(strange truth but true)
because my health would give out soon.

Today, i was in a daze,
a matrix of thoughts from a
sadness of possibly leaving this place
i'm with for the last 8 years, and a
glee that maybe i could be free to
travel the world again if i can't work
but he cautioned against travel. *dang*

Today, I finally understood
even though I knew this concept,
of over-stressing my physical situation
to the brink of extinction.

Today, something happened
that moved me...
that said the gods are watching me too.

Today, the story continues
and a new chapter begins.

20090106

2009 goal: Do something new.. change the worLd

[122.29] between You and I
all personalities remain the same,
all behaviour can be modified,
all different facets of the same diamond, rough or refined.

(I am fascinated by most systems of psych evaluation. The geek in me enjoys researching on methods of understanding humanity's creative spirit. This one is rather fun: quizbox.com/personality. I could agree with most of what it says about me below.)

You are down-to-earth and (up-in-space.) People like you because you are so straightforward. (I can detour too.) You are an efficient problem solver (I prefer solutions to problems) because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties. (The intuitive peacemaker.)

You may not like to study but you have many ideas (a-musing.) You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart (I do empathise), so you will probably end up with an unusual job (or doing the usual job unusually.)You are (not) a practical person and will choose a secure(ly fun) job with (or without) a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is (very) important. Find a regular job doing just that and you will be set for life. Be courageous. (Huzzah!)

You have a great deal of warmth, but may not show it until you know a person well. You keep your warm side inside, like a fur-lined coat. When you are care, you care deeply, but are more likely to show your feeling by deeds rather than words. You are very faithful to duties and obligations related to things or people you care about. (I love you, Gramma! I love *you* too!)

You take a very personal approach to life, judging everything by your inner ideals and personal values. You stick to your values with passionate conviction, but can be influenced by someone you care deeply about. Although your inner loyalties and ideals govern your lives, you find these hard to talk about. Your deepest feelings are seldom expressed; your inner tenderness is masked by quiet reserve.

In everyday activities you are tolerant, open-mind, flexible, and adaptable. If one of your inner loyalties is threatened, though, you will not give an inch. You usually enjoy the present moment, and do not like to spoil it by rushing to get things done. You have little wish to impress or dominate. The people you prize the most are those who take the time to understand your values and the goals you are working toward.

You are interested mainly in the realities brought to you by your senses, both inner and outer. You are apt to enjoy fields where taste, discrimination, and a sense of beauty and proportion are important. You have a special love of nature and a sympathy with creatures. You often excel in craftsmanship and the work of your hands is usually more eloquent than words.

You are twice as good when working at a job that you believe in, since your feeling adds energy to your efforts. You see the needs of the moment and try to meet them. You want your work to contribute to something that matters to you - human understanding, happiness, or health. You want to have a purpose beyond your paycheck, no matter how big the check.

You are a perfectionist whenever you deeply care about something, and are particularly suited for work that requires both devotion and a large measure of adaptability. The problem for you is that you may feel such a contrast between your inner ideals and your actual accomplishments that you may burden yourself with a sense of inadequacy. This can be true even when you are being as effective as others. You take for granted anything you do well and are the most modest of all the types, tending to underrate and understate yourself.

It is important for you to find practical ways to express your ideals; otherwise you will keep dreaming of the impossible and accomplish very little. If you find no actions to express your ideal, you can become too sensitive and vulnerable, with dwindling confidence in life and in yourself. Actually, you have much to give and need only to find the spot where you are needed.

You are kind and open-minded. You may not be talkative, but you are friendly and enjoy the company of intelligent people. You always keep the secrets of others, and never ((: rarely) play tricks on people. You are probably an independent and strong-willed person. Fairness is important to you, and you always stand up for what you believe in. You are friendly and get along well with people. You are probably a clever and adventurous person. You love to learn new things, and enjoy socializing with friends. Although you enjoy your freedom, you cherish peacefulness and like to spend time alone with your thoughts.

You are polite, helpful and love your friends. You will do anything you can to help your friends but you don't like to be taken advantage of. You are very confident and content with your life as it is. You've got great self-confidence and you're full of charm. You are far from sweet and proper; your intriguing personality fascinates them. You really care about other people's feelings and are quite serious about the issues that affect your life. You are sincere, and your concern for the well-being of others makes many people want to be your friend.

Your confidence and cheerfulness make you an attractive person to be around, but sometimes you need to pay more attention to what other people are thinking. You will never expect to control your better half. You will take turns to make decision and the decision is often acceptable to both of you. Whatever you want to let him know, you can just tell him straightforwardly. This is a good relationship, a pretty modern one.

You love freedom and hate to be controlled. You want to walk away from all the rules and rely on your imagination to direct your life instead. When you need to re-energize yourself, you head to the beach or to the forest. You are gracious and simply say thank you when you receive a compliment, it shows that you are confident and self-assured. You respect the privacy of others, and don't like to poke your nose into anyone's business. You are sure of what your values are, and are proud of what you believe.

[1312.4] so we grow
